Here is a conical base shap in plastic - I could have used wood - a copper ring and the bent tinplate sheet cut out from the former on the plan.
The copper ring is mounted on the cone, then the tinplate shape is soldered to it. You can see a chunk of plastic with the two gun barrels in waiting to be slotted in...
Here are the basic shapes for the anchor, as shown on the plan.
And here is the finished item, with the Kinder Egg housing glued on top. The gun dome is mounted with a screw into the conical base so that it can revolve and elevate.
The full-size boat has ridges all the way around the cone. These can be made from 1/32" balsa strips glued around it as shown on the plan.
A Dremel will easily shape these into an accurate depiction of Byers Anchor.
He...and cut it carefully with a sharp knife.
And when the parts are soldered it will look quite realistic...
The mushroom vents are made from plastic domes cut from pill containers, glued to a short bit of dowel.
