EeZeBILT Curlew
Return to Home
Steve's speciality is 'Enlarged Eezebilts"

Here is the frame of a Curlew - doubled! Note that the chine at the bow is tilted up a bit - Steve says it makes quite a difference. That's the only major modification (apart from the size!)...
At larger sizes there is a need for more support. Luckily, offcuts are fine for this.
On goes the deck and sides. Steve wondered if he hadn't overdone the support a bit, but I think he will find that this minimises the thin balsa 'rippling' after a season or two...
The motor mount goes in...
Here is the superstructure unit - again, with more support, and the roof is given a bit of a curve.

It's still the same perky little Curlew cabin, though...
The original Curlew had hardly enough room for a small motor. Now the motor looks lost in the space it used to occupy.
Just the same little work-boat lines...
Skin the sides, and it's practically finished....
A couple of shots of the hull - waiting for the finishing and painting.
